Tickle Cat Cooks: Quiche

Tickle Cat knows of some rat creatures who love Quiche, so he took the recipe. Here it is:

1 pie crust

1/4 cup butter (softened)

4 medium eggs

2 cups heavy cream

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese

1 tablespoon butter (as a separate measurement)

3/4 cup chopped cooked bacon

2 tablespoons minced green onion

1/4 teaspoon salt (as a separate measurement)

pinch of pepper

dab of soft stinky cheese (Stilton or Camembert will work)

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Spread 1/4 cup of butter onto the pie crust evenly, then chill.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs, heavy cream, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt with a whisk. Stir in the grated cheese.
  4. Melt the tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the chopped bacon, minced green onions, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and pinch of pepper. Cook for 5 minutes or until the onions are tender, stirring frequently.
  6. Stir the bacon and onion mixture into the cream mixture.
  7. Pour into the pie crust and bake for 15 minutes at 425°F.
  8. Reduce heat to 325°F and bake for another 35 minutes.
  9. Allow to stand for 10 to 15 minutes.
  10. Spoon a dab of soft stinky cheese on top before serving piping hot!
