Tickle Cat Cooks: Bechamel Sauce

on

Tickle Cat ran into this delicious meal from fellow connoisseur Ricardo. Let’s gets cooking!

3 tablespoons of butter

3 tablespoons of flour

2 cups of milk

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter in the saucepan
  2. Sprinkle flour on the butter and stir with whisk
  3. Let the butter and flour mixture cook for 1 minute, whisking constantly so it doesn’t taste like flour. This step is called making a roux. The roux is used to thicken the milk to make a nice creamy sauce.
  4. Add the milk, stirring constantly with a whisk. Bring to a boil (over medium-high heat). If you stop whisking, the sauce will be lumpy.
  5. When the consistency of the sauce becomes thick and creamy (you feel your arm getting tired of stirring!), remove from the heat.

A classic meal!
